COMPANY PROFILE
Aether Training is a fully accredited training provider designed to be innovative, supportive, educational, and committed to individual empowerment.
Aether Training remains the more popular choice in management and leadership development because our focus is 100% outcomes based. Our training material and assessment design is aimed at maximising learning development and subsequent workplace application.
Since its inception April 2003, Aether Training cc has evolved into Aether Training Academy (Pty) Ltd with full accreditation status within the Service Sector Education Training Authority. The company’s primary focus within the Service SETA is registered under accreditation number 0756.
The Academy is managed by Arina Palm, “founding member” and Chief Executive Officer.
The Academy offers a truly unique and tailor-made learning model to adult education.
We offer personalised and customised coaching as the platform for individual empowerment and development as opposed to merely facilitating course contents. That said, our packages are flexible to our clients’ unique requirements. An example of that is the offering of group training, or individual and personalised coaching, or alternatively a variety of distance learning (e-learning) methodologies.
In addition to the above customisation The Academy offers workshops and/or seminars either at our clients’ premises at highly competitive packages, or at prestigious public venues accredited for their hospitality and convenience. The advantages of in-house training are:
- It strongly promotes teamwork and communication between participants, especially when a number of different ‘ranks’ within your business are trained together;
- It creates a ‘critical mass’ of people who share the same vision much faster than sending people in small numbers to public training, i.e. You get much faster organisational change with in-house training;
- It can be easily customised specifically for your business, using examples and images from your own environment; and
- It is cheaper (per person) than public training. This is because we do not have to pass on the cost of marketing or venue hire.
Having looked at the advantages of in-house training we also need to convey the disadvantages of in-house training, individual coaching and/or group training sessions:
- It can be very difficult to get all your team together at the same time, without having to suspend your normal business activities;
- Participants are far more likely to be interrupted during the training session, to deal with ‘crisis’s’ that arise.

THE ORIGIN OF OUR LOGO & COMPANY NAME
ABOUT OUR LOGO
About our logo….
-
Psychology (lit. “study of the soul” or “study of the mind”) is an academic and applied discipline that involves the scientific study of human mental functions and behaviours. (Wikipedia)
-
The logo refers to the Greek alphabet, psi which relates the psychology. The word psychology is from Greek.
About our Company Name….
Both the logo and the company name have a Greek reference, keeping in mind that Aether Training Academy is proudly South African, co-owned by South Africans and offering a uniquely South African product through its customisation to the South African market!
Aether was the god of light in Greek mythology. He was the son of Erebus, but had no mother. Aether was the Protogenos (first-born elemental god) of the bright, glowing upper air of heaven – the substance of light. Above him lay the solid dome of the sky-god, Ouranos, and below, the transparent mists of earth-bound air.
In the evening his mother Nyx drew her veil of darkness between the aither and the aer to bring night to man. In the morn his sister-wife Hemera dispersed these mists, revealing the shining blue aither of day. Night and day were regarded as quite independent of the sun in the ancient cosmogonies.
Aither was one of the three “airs”. The middle air was Aer or Khaos, a colourless mist which enveloped the mortal world. The lower air was Erebos, the mists of darkness, which enveloped the dark places beneath the earth and the realm of the dead. The third was the upper air of aither, the mist of light, home of the gods of heaven. It enveloped the mountain peaks, clouds, stars, sun and moon. The stars themselves were said to be formed from the concentrated fires of aither. (Wikipedia)
An example is our training programmes within leadership and management empowerment, which is aimed at empowering the individual. We focus on the academic side as well as on the application of disciplines, functions and behaviours in a workplace environment.
