The 2008/9 CCMA [Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration] Annual Report suggests that the case load increased by 6 %.  The report further say that 82 % of these referrals were unfair dismissals and it says “Unfair dismissal disputes continued to account for the largest percentage of the cases”.   Of these cases 57 % of them came from sectors such as Retail, Business and Professionals, Private Security, Building and Construction and Domestics.
